Wood reclaiming “harvesters” comb the hillsides looking for that “lost treasure of a structure”. The old structures are then carefully and painstakingly disassembled, after which they are sent to a mill for the beginning of their so called” face lift” and preparation for their new use.

Mill
A building with machinery for processing material.
Here the reclaimed wood is de-nailed, kiln dried and then re-milled using one of two basic options. While one leaves most of the original saw marks, nail holes, worm holes and “over wood” or unevenness intact, alternately, a different milling process leaves the wood with a much smoother face, yet the history and character of the wood is still very apparent.
